| Judith
Valerie, M.A. Judith Valerie is an educator with 30 years of teaching experience in Britain and the United States. She has been practicing yoga since 1977 and teaching since 1979. Yoga teaching has been her professional livelihood since moving to Raleigh, NC in 1990. Judith is certified through White Lotus Foundation (CA,1988) and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (MA,1991). The first 13 years of Judith's yoga education were in the Iyengar tradition. These studies continue to inform and deepen her understanding of the poses. Judith has also completed month long residential programs at Satchidananda Yoga Center (VA) and the Himalayan Institute (PA) and a 3 week yoga intensive in Greece with Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten. Judith received her 500 hour professional level teachers certificate in 2002 from Kripalu Center. She continues her professional development by attending additional workshops and trainings in a variety of styles, most recently:

Jan Alexiou began practicing yoga 21 years ago. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Health and completed her two year training with the late Esther Myers of Toronto to become a Certified Yoga Instructor. She also trained in Vancouver, Canada with international teacher, Donna Farhi, as well as other national and local teachers. Her particular interest is therapeutic yoga, as applied to specific health issues. She also enjoys helping those new to yoga access, define , and experience profound awareness and appreciation of the body through the practice of classical yoga poses and breathing techniques. |

Julee has been practicing yoga since 1995 and has studied extensively with master teachers Lisa Clark, David Beadle, Patty Townsend and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. In May 2004, she received her yoga teacher certification from the Yoga ~ Body, Mind and Spirit school in Chapel Hill and is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher. Julee is also a somatic movement therapist and recently completed her 4-year movement therapy training in Body-Mind CenteringR. She regularly integrates Body-Mind Centering into her yogaa teaching. With 17
years of dance experience, 4 years of yoga teaching, 10 years of
yoga practice and more than 2,000 hours of therapeutic study, Julee
brings to her work an embodied exploration of anatomy, a clear articulation
of alignment and movement principles, a deep love and compassion
for the journey, and a playful curiosity. She is a yoga therapist
at Duke Integrative Medicine and on faculty for the Yoga, Body, Mind
and Spirit Teacher Training Program in Chapel Hill (www.yogabodymindandspirit.com)
and the School for Body-Mind Centering in NC (www.bmc-nc.com). |

Owen Daly was introduced to yoga in 1967 as part of his training for a small ensemble theatre group. In 1993 he began taking regular classes with Judith Valerie. In 1999 Owen participated in a Yoga Intensive workshop at Kripalu Center in Lenox,Massachusetts taught by Deva Parnell of Discovery Yoga in St. Augustine Florida. He has also studied with Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten for the past five years at their annual workshops in Chapel Hill. Owen is an apprentice yoga teacher. He enjoys teaching as a way of expanding his yoga. |
