To be eligible for an award, horses must be registered with SWANA as either
full or appendix SWBs. Owners must be SWANA members for the year of the
award and official owner of record with SWANA. Awards will be given on
a yearly basis and announced in SWANA publications.
DRESSAGE:

Award year: October 1st through September 30th.
Membership of owner and horse registration with SWANA is required by September
1st of the award year. Awards will be based on results provided by USDF
through the All-Breeds Awards program.
Horse must be registered with USDF. Owner must be a member of USDF.
A SWANA Saddle Pad will be awarded to the horses with the highest percentage
in the Open divisions (HOY) at each level (Training–Grand Prix).
SWANA will award engraved halter plates for first place in each level
in the following divisions:
Adult Amateur
Vintage Cup
Junior /Young Rider and
Freestyle (FEI levels)
SWANA will award up to five certificates per level. (photo

SWANA DRESSAGE
FUTURITY:
Award year: October 1 through September 30th.
Membership of owner with SWANA is required by September 1st of the award
year. Horse registration is required with nomination.
Horse must be registered with USDF and recorded as a SWB. Owner must be
a member of USDF.
The SWANA Futurity Award will go to the 4 year old SWB with the highest
median score at training level or above as based on USDF rankings.
Nominating fee of $25 for foals, $50 for yearlings, $75 for 2 year olds,
$100 for 3 year olds, and $125 for 4 y ear olds. Nominating fee is payable
up to July1 of the competition year.
A minimum prize of $250 will be awarded to the winner.
FIVE and SIX
YEAR OLD DRESSAGE CHAMPIONS:
Award year: October 1st through September 30th
Membership of owner and horse registration with SWANA is required by September
1st of the award year.
Two Awards will be presented.
The top SWB 5-year-old competing at first level or above will be awarded.
The top SWB 6 year old at second level or above will be awarded.
Awards will be based on USDF rankings. Horses must be recorded with USDF
and qualify for a USDF award.
If a horse qualifies for a USDF award/ranking at a level higher than the
required minimum (e.g. a six year old competing at Third level) that score
can count for the young horse award, but there will be no adjustment for
scores earned at a higher level than the minimum. If a horse qualifies
at 2 levels, the higher score will be counted.

JUMPERS: 
Award year: December 1st through November 30th
Membership of owner and horse registration with SWANA is required by September
1st of the award year.
Horses competing for Jumper awards must be recorded with USEF and must
list breed as SWB with USEF.
Jumper awards will be given in the following categories:
Adult/Amateur-Children’s
Junior-Amateur/Owner
Grand Prix Jumpers ($25,000+ classes)
All awards will be based on results provided by United States Equestrian
Federation (USEF).
Junior-Amateur/Owner and Grand Prix Jumper awards are based on money won.
Children’s-Adult/Amateur awards are based on points accrued in the
horse’s home zone. Points accrued outside of the horse’s home
zone are not recorded by the USEF and therefore do not count towards SWANA
awards.

HUNTERS:
Award year: December 1st through November 30th.
Membership of owner and horse registration with SWANA is required by September
1st of the award year.
Horses competing for Hunter awards must be recorded with USEF and have
breed listed as SWB with USEF.
Awards will be given to the top horse nationally in Children’s-Adult/Amateur,
Junior-Amateur/Owner, and Open Hunters (combining green, conformation,
and working hunter divisions)
