April 23, 3:00 AM Ellie foaled a solid chestnut colt. TJ reports, "The little guy is doing great and such a joy to handle". "He has the best temperament." TJ is on cloud 9.

Hey Suzin
I was looking at your Website and saw comment about the great uphill confirmation of Sabine. It made me think about the unique uphill confirmation of Ansgar and wanted to share with you also. I am including the picture of him walking around and the float he has (even apparent in a still photo). (May 23, 2003)

 

Suzin and Ellen-

It is with deepest regrets that I inform you we had to put Ansgar to sleep
on Monday, 21 Jul 03. He presented in terrible neurorlogical distress when
I went down to feed in the morning . We pushed more than 3 liters of fluid
with no noticable improvement. After 2 hours of watching him deteriorate
(respiratory distress/rigors), we made the call to put him to sleep. We
took him to have an autopsy performed at Rollins. Results should start
trickling in over the next few days. It has been determined it is not
rabies. The results of EEE and WNV are not back, yet. There is
speculation Ansgar might have been septic following a poisonous snake bite
2 weeks ago.

Needless to say, I am absolutely beside myself and I am thankful Doug has
been right beside me.
